The following are the introductions to chrome yellow:
Basic Information
Chrome yellow, with the chemical formula PbCrO₄, also known as lead chromate, is a yellow inorganic compound that is usually insoluble in solvents. It has monoclinic and other crystal forms. The monoclinic form is relatively stable and is widely used as a chrome yellow pigment in paints. It can also exist in the form of the mineral "chrome lead ore".
Physical and chemical properties: Yellow or orange powder, relative density 6.12, melting point 844℃, decomposition at boiling point. Soluble in alkali solution and inorganic acid, insoluble in water and oil. Will not powder in the atmosphere, but darkens in color after long exposure to sunlight, and easily turns black when exposed to hydrogen sulfide gas.
use
It is mainly used in making paints, inks, watercolors, pigments, and also for coloring colored paper, rubber and plastic products.
