The following is an introduction to magnesium-aluminum alloys :
Basic Information
Composition and formation: Magnesium-aluminum alloy is made by melting magnesium ingots and aluminum ingots at high temperature in a protective gas. The content of magnesium and aluminum in standard magnesium-aluminum alloy is approximately 50% each.
Physical properties: The color is mostly gray-brown, the specific gravity is about 2.15g/cm³, the melting point is 463℃, the density is generally around 1.8g/cm³, and the temperature generated during combustion reaches 2000℃-3000℃.
Performance characteristics
Mechanical properties: It has high strength and rigidity, can withstand large loads, and can be used to manufacture high-strength parts. However, its fatigue resistance is relatively poor, and the durability of magnesium-aluminum alloy frames of the same volume is worse than that of aluminum alloy frames.
Physical properties: Good thermal conductivity, which is beneficial to the heat dissipation of electronic equipment; good electromagnetic shielding performance, which can effectively block electromagnetic wave interference.
Processing performance: It has good casting performance and cutting performance, is easy to process and shape, and can manufacture parts of various complex shapes.
Application Areas
Aerospace field: It can reduce the weight of aircraft structure and improve fuel efficiency and flight performance.
Automobile industry: used to manufacture engine parts, frames, etc., which helps to reduce vehicle weight, reduce fuel consumption, and improve vehicle power and handling.
Electronic and electrical field: Laptop shells, mobile phone frames, etc. are made of magnesium-aluminum alloy, which can improve heat dissipation efficiency and play an electromagnetic shielding role, protecting equipment and human body from electromagnetic radiation.
Military field: It can be used to manufacture weapon equipment parts, such as firearms, missile parts, etc., to reduce the weight of equipment and improve mobility and combat effectiveness.
